Introduction of Boston

If you want to spend your journey away from crowds of tourists, take a walk in the shade of trees around a small and cozy town, immerse yourself in history, visit the world’s capital of education and science, visit the Global Business city, and enjoy the old architecture and see the modern financial buildings - welcome to Boston.

Boston is one of the oldest cities in America, founded in 1630 by English settlers. Now, the city is a large business center for the financial, banking, and insurance sectors, in addition to medical and publishing industries.

Boston is a global center of education and science, being home to more than 100 universities and colleges.

One of the most prestigious universities in the world, Harvard, is located here in Boston. Take a stroll along the Harvard Yard, especially if you have children with you. Seeing this center of learning could spark their lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the world’s leading university and research center of mathematics, science, and technology. At MIT, education is paired with originality and creativity to create innovation.

Without the innovations from the universities of Boston, progress in science, technology, and medicine would have been greatly delayed.

Even since becoming an industrial center, Boston still remains a quiet and comfortable city, rated as America’s best walking city.
The modern skyrises frame the old architecture, blending the past and the present,
leaving room for quiet, narrow streets with brick buildings.

Boston plays a significant role in American history. The Revolutionary War erupted in Boston. In the Civil War era, it was a base for anti-slavery advocates.

Freedom Trail will guide you through many iconic historical places.

- Here, in the Old South Meeting House in 1773, 5000 people came together to discuss the British taxation. Later that night, rebels from the meeting raided British ships in what would come to be known as the Boston Tea Party.

- In 1775, a light signal was sent to the American revolutionaries from the spire of Old North Church, warning of the approach of British troops.

- The Paul Revere House. Here lived an American patriot Paul Revere during the time of the American Revolution.

- Here, in 1770, the Boston Massacre occurred before the Old State House, and in 1776, Thomas Crafts declared the Declaration of Independence.

The residents of Boston carefully preserve and are proud of their history.

Boston is a very green city. You will enjoy walking through the shades of trees on Park Avenue.

:-) Oh, Park Avenue is in New York. Commonwealth Avenue is an avenue with an actual park.

And do not forget to visit the nearby Newbury Street for a fanciful shopping experience.

The special love of Boston residents is Common Park. Founded in 1634, it is the oldest city park in the United States. Residents of Boston gather in Boston Common Park for concerts, arrange family picnics, and ice-skate here during the winter.

In the old times, Boston Common Park was known for a tree called the Great Elm, where criminals, pirates, and witches were all hung -- but don’t worry; these days, the park is a great place for relaxation and a stroll through the trees.

And...our little tip: Visit Fan Pier Park, a pleasant place for a leisurely walk, or to sit reading a book or thinking; it is quiet, small, and cozy, and sits on the riverside with a magnificent view of Business Downtown.

Be sure to visit versatile and attractive Boston.
